- Enlarge the first letter. Make it 1.5–2× taller. This alone transforms most signatures.
- Pick one slant. Slightly forward is the most natural. Draw light guide lines at that angle and practise over them.
- Join the letters. Lift the pen at most twice. Gaps make a signature look hesitant.
- Fix the baseline. Keep it straight or rising gently. A falling line looks tired.
- Simplify. Remove loops you can't repeat. Fewer strokes, done the same way every time, look better.
- Add a clean finish. One underline or a forward tail instead of a scribble or a dot.
- Match the size to your handwriting. A tiny signature looks unsure; an enormous one won't fit forms.
- Practise with a sheet. Trace, copy, then sign from memory: 10 minutes a day for 7 days.

A 7-day practice routine

- Days 1–2: trace slowly over a printed example, 20 times.
- Days 3–4: copy it on lined paper while looking at it.
- Days 5–6: sign from memory at normal speed.
- Day 7: sign it 10 times and compare. If they all match, you're ready.
