Shubh Signature Report page 2: moolank, bhagyank and name number

1. Moolank (root number)

Add the digits of the day you were born until one digit remains.

2. Bhagyank (destiny number)

Add every digit of your full date of birth, then reduce to one digit.

3. Name number (Chaldean)

Most Indian numerologists use the Chaldean system for names. Add the value of every letter in the name as you sign it, then reduce.

ValueLetters
1A, I, J, Q, Y
2B, K, R
3C, G, L, S
4D, M, T
5E, H, N, X
6U, V, W
7O, Z
8F, P

Example, "Rahul Sharma": R2 + A1 + H5 + U6 + L3 = 17; S3 + H5 + A1 + R2 + M4 + A1 = 16; total 33 → 3+3 = 6. Sign only "Rahul" and the name number becomes 17 → 8. That's why numerologists care which part of your name you sign.

Tradition suggests starting a new signature on the day of your moolank's planet. Practitioners differ on some pairings (Rahu and Ketu especially), so you may see small variations elsewhere.

How the numbers are used for a signature

Numerologists usually compare your name number with your moolank and bhagyank. If they clash, they may suggest signing a slightly different form of your name (for example, adding an initial). They then apply the shape guidelines: a rising line, a clear first letter, no cutting strokes and no dot. See the 9 signature rules.

Numerology is a tradition, not a science. We explain it accurately and never promise outcomes.

Frequently asked questions

Which is more important for a signature, moolank or bhagyank?
Practitioners usually look at both: the moolank for the day to start and the bhagyank for the overall direction, then match the name number to them.
Why doesn't any letter have the value 9 in Chaldean numerology?
In the Chaldean tradition 9 is considered sacred, so no letter is given that value. It can still appear as a total.
Do I need my birth time?
No. Moolank, bhagyank and the name number only need your date of birth and the name you sign.
