What a professional signature needs
At work your signature does a job. It approves invoices, accepts offers, signs contracts and sits on certificates other people keep. A professional signature should be:
- Consistent: the same every time, so banks and auditors can match it.
- Recognisable: at least the first letters can be read.
- Fast: one smooth movement you can repeat 50 times a day.
- Hard to copy: a distinctive first letter and flow, not just your name in plain handwriting.

Formal and stylish: why you get both
Most professionals end up needing two versions of their signature. The formal one is clear and steady, for bank mandates, KYC, government forms and legal documents. The stylish one has more personality, for contracts, letters, approvals and certificates. Both are designed from the same name, so they look like they belong together.
Professional signature tips
- Use the same signature everywhere official. Your bank, PAN/ID and employer should all have the same one. Switching styles causes cheque returns and KYC delays.
- Keep it inside the box. Many forms give a 4–5 cm box. Practise at that size.
- Don't sign in capitals or a print font. Joined, flowing handwriting is harder to forge.
- Practise before you register it. Sign it 20 times a day for a week before you update your bank.
